70% Garnacha Tintorera - 30% Moravia Agria

Vol. 13%

Envinate, Castilla-Leon, Spain.

Laura Ramos, Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente and José Martinez, four friends who met at the University of Alicante, became oenologists and started 3 distinct projects that were born in as many incredible and dreamlike Spanish viticultural archaeo-sites with exceptional charm and suggestion: l the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, the Amandi subregion of Ribeira Sacra in Galicia and the Almansa-Manchuela area in the extreme south-east of Castilla-Leon.
Each of these gives rise to wines that are necessarily different, strongly characterized and singular to say the least, with marked distinctive features that only Nature could paint so perfectly.

Albahra is a red wine formed for 70% from Garnacha Tintorera grapes (also known as Alicante Bouschet) and for the remainder 30% it is made up Moravian Agria grape coming from sandier soil located in nearby Manchuela. The Moravia Agria grape is characterized by high acidity and low alcohol.

The fermentation of this wine takes place in large 80 hectoliter concrete tanks in which the skins and a part of the stems are left.
The refinement is carried out in cement for the Garnacha Tintorera, while for the Moravia Agria the refinement is carried out in small neutral wood .
